Fabric After May 4, 2020

Fabric is being shut down on May 4, 2020, and is finding its new home in Firebase. This means Fabric apps that are not migrated by sunset will no longer be accessible. We strongly encourage you to migrate your apps to Firebase before May 4, 2020 to have access to your Crashlytics data.

After May 4, here’s what to expect:

For your team:

  • You will no longer be able to access the Fabric dashboard, export data to Firebase, or use the Firebase migration flow.
  • You can continue using the Fabric Crashlytics SDK in your apps until a deprecation date is announced. Once the Fabric Crashlytics SDK deprecation date is announced you will need to upgrade to the new Firebase Crashlytics SDK. Old versions of your app still using the Fabric Crashlytics SDK will not break once it’s deprecated, however they will no longer submit crash reports.

For your app:

  • Migrated Fabric apps will still see 90 days of Crashlytics data in the Firebase dashboard.
  • Analytics (Answers) data will no longer be accessible.
  • Beta distributions and tester groups and info will no longer be accessible.
  • Fabric docs will no longer be available. To access migration or Firebase product specific docs, please visit our docs on Firebase.

If you don’t migrate to Firebase by May 4, 2020, here’s what to expect:

  • Historical Crashlytics data will not transfer into Firebase.
  • You will need to onboard your app fresh in Firebase to use Crashlytics.
  • You will lose the ability to go through the UI migration flow, as well as access to the Migration checklist in Firebase.
